Sarah Rapoport, BYFI ’05, is in her fourth year at the Warren Alpert School of Medicine at Brown University. Prior to medical school she studied Creative Writing at Bar Ilan University and Arabic as a Dorot Fellow, while helping to run a free clinic for African Refugees and Foreign Workers in Yaffo, Tel Aviv. During her first two years as a medical student she served as the volunteer coordinator for the Rhode Island Free Clinic, a volunteer-based public medical clinic in Providence that offers free healthcare to uninsured adults. Additionally, Sarah was one of two medical students featured in a National Public Radio documentary series entitled “Future Docs.” The series was an Edward R. Murrow award-winning series that followed the experiences of two medical students over the course of eight months on their paths to becoming physicians. Sarah straddles the worlds of science, writing, and endurance sports, and enjoys running, mountain climbing, and biking.
